Superior Lady Cats won a hard-fought, foul-plagued game against the Red Cloud Warriors Friday night in Red Cloud, 54-37. Thirty-five fouls were called during the game.
Both teams played strong defense and struggled offensively for a low scoring first half. Even though the Warriors went on a seven point run in the second, Superior lead at the half 22-17.
When the game was over, Reagan Meyers lead the Superior teams with 23 points. Halle Bargen was the only other Wildcat in double digit figures with 10. Maddie Bargen had 8, Mia Gardner 6 and Sadie Cornell 3
Josie Faimon, a freshman, scored 16 for the Warriors, Josie Rust with 9, Ava Rust and Logan Brown with 7 and Kayla Faimon with 4.
The Wildcats were 14 of 23 from the line. Red Cloud eight out of 16. Superior with 10 turnovers compared to 15 for Red Cloud.
The two teams could met again as both play in the same district. After the game, Superior girls moved to 13 wins and three losses for the season. Red Cloud moved to 7 and 7.
The Wildcats traveled to Deshler, Tuesday. They are scheduled to play Diller-Odell Friday.
