Davenport resident dies in car crash near Fairbury Monday

Terry Enghauser, 71, of Davenport died in a single-vehicle accident north of Fairbury on Highway 15 Monday afternoon. No other injuries were reported,

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office his vehicle was northbound on Highway 15 when it veered off the road and hit the embankment associated with 722 Road, about 11 miles north of downtown Fairbury. The accident happened after 3 p.m.

The automobile, a 2005 Ford Mustang, then crossed the county road, rolled and ejected Enghauser from the front seat. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported to the Jefferson County Hospital by ambulance where he later died.
