Brodstone Foundation hosts Big Idea contest

Brodstone Foundation hosts third annual Big Idea

The Brodstone Foundation hosted its third annual Brodstone Big Idea event on Friday. Mirroring the concept of Shark Tank, Brodstone employees were invited to share their innovative ideas related to equipment, technology or initiatives aimed at improving patient care at Brodstone Healthcare.

Out of numerous submissions, 10 finalists had the chance to present their proposals to a panel of judges, which included members from the Brodstone Foundation Board of Directors. The Foundation committed more than $13,000 to support the winning ideas, with Oakeson Steiner Wealth & Retirement contributing an additional $5,000.

After deliberation, seven projects were selected for funding during the event. The top finalists and their proposals included:

Waiting Room Phone Chargers - Diane Tate

Play Therapy Room - Casey Zoltenko and Colleen Babcock

Foldable Ball Pit for Pediatric Rehab - Brenna Bolejack

BlazePods for Physical Therapy - Paige Hild

Floor Scrubber - Kassi Amani

Handheld Bladder Scanner - Sharon Bowers

Birthing Simulator - Courtney Warren and Kristi Wehrman

Treg Vyzourek, CEO at Brodstone Healthcare, shared his excitement by stating, "The Brodstone Big Idea provides a platform for employees to showcase their innovative ideas and passions here at Brodstone. This event uniquely allows our foundation to give back to employees through various pieces of equipment and initiatives that positively impact patient care every day."
