Friday evening, Superior wrestled at home as part of the Superior Invitational. Nineteen boys teams and 17 girl teams competed.
Boys teams included Fairbury, Centennial, Kearney Catholic, Thayer Central, Red Cloud-Blue Hill, Meridan, Johnson County Central, Southern Valley, Sutton, Wilcox-Hildreth, Adams Central, Smith Center, Osborne, Republic County, Sandy Creek, Omaha Concordiaand Exeter-Milligan-Friend and Lawrence-Nelson.
Superior boys earned 45.5 points. The top five schools were Fairbury with 162,Centennial with 144.5, Kearney Cahtolic with 139.5, Thayer Central 106 and Red Cloud-Blue Hill with 96.
Holden McDonald placed third in the 126 pound class and scored 17.6 team points.
Jackson Bernal wrestled in the 132 pound class and did not score. Cooper Benjamin wrestled in the 138 pound class and did not score. Lincoln Sander wrestled in the 144 poundclass and did not score. Cooper Sheely placed third in the 144 pound class.
Justin Sander wrestled in the 157 pound class and did not score.
Kyler Boyles placed first in the 175 pound class and scored 28 team points. In the first match, Boyles won by fall over Jerik Johnson, Fairbury. In the semi-final he won by fall over Dakota Guinn, Centennial. In the quarter-final, he won by fall over Brandt McLaufhlin, Lawrence-Nelson and in the champion round he won by fall over Zander Rygol, Omaha Concordia.
David Hodges placed second in the 175 pound B class.
