Mankato residents learned Friday they should begin preparing for an invasion. Participants in the 2025 rendition of Biking Across Kansas are scheduled to spend a June night in Mankato.
This is the 51st year for the cross-Kansas adventure. It is an annual 8-day adventure with between 400 and 700 participants expected. This year’s route includes stops in St. Francis, Oberlin, Logan, Osborne, Mankato, Washington. Sabetha, Troy and Elwood.
Riders will start early Friday on the Colorado border and ride east to St. Francis, a distance of 14 miles. Saturday they are to travel 70 miles to Oberlin. On Sunday it will be 64 miles to Logan. Monday they will go 65 mile to Osborne. Tuesday the route will go east from Osborne to Beloit and then northwest to Mankato, a distance of 58 miles. Wednesday will be the Century Day. Riders will chose either a 62-mile Mankato to Washington route or a longer 100-mile route that will take them through Jamestown, Norway and Greenleaf before ending in Washington. Thursday they will pedal the 72 miles between Washington and Sabetha. Friday they are to travel 56 miles to Troy. Saturday, June 14, they end the ride with a 14-mile jaunt to Elwood on the Missouri stateline.
