The Jewell County Commissioners met on Dec. 23. Commissioners Brent Beck and Ed Duskie were present. Myka Zadina, county clerk elect, Carla Waugh, county clerk, and Ervin Underwood, county commissioner elect, was also present for the meeting.
The Lindburg Vogel Pierce Faris Chartered letter of engagement for the audit of the years ending Dec. 31, 2024, Dec. 31, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2026 was approved.
Joel Elkins, general superintendent, reported they are rocking in various areas of the county. He noted they started the rock project from 130 Road to 140 Road on G Road. Reece Construction would start the next week on the bridge on the county line in Grant Township. They will start in January on the bridge north of Jack Dean’s house.
The commissioners went into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel. Regular session resumed with no action taken.
