Many attended the American Legion new Year's Eve celebration in Nelson. Several people brought prepared dishes and deserts for all to enjoy throughout the evening. Bill Riley graciously served everyone and kept the evening delightful. People told stories and conversed with one another as the evening went along, joy and laughter filled the air. Theresa Walton showed off her newly made dress for the occasion, and Steve Trout sang and performed to everyone's delight throughout the evening. Stories and jokes were told by everyone throughout the night, keeping the evening filled with fun and laughter.
The golf course was also busy and filled with many patrons throughout the evening. The building was packed full of family and friends enjoying each other. As the evening went along, laughter and excitement grew as everyone enjoyed the events that unfolded. All the tables were full of people talking and enjoying the evening with one another.
It seemed the entire Nelson community was celebrating New Year's Eve. At the American Legion, the golf coarse or at individual homes, joy and laughter filled the air. At midnight fireworks were set off by residents in town as the clocks struck midnight. You could hear people celebrating into the early hours of the morning.
