Wanda Jean Hansen, 74, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024 in Las Vegas, at N & L Home- care.
Wanda was born Sept. 30, 1950, to John Wesley and Janet (Malsbury) Hansen of Superior, Nebraska, the fourth of five children. She grew up on a farm near Bostwick and graduated from Superior High School in 1968.
Wanda earned her bachelor of arts degree in business from Kearney State College in 1972. She also attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha with credits towards a master's degree. Wanda worked at Omaha OIC Technical School for eight years, then taught business at Flanagan High School in Omaha for 17 years. In 1998, Wanda moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she worked in the offices of several companies.
In October, 1972, Wanda married Donald Jennings. They had one son, Jason Richard Jennings born in 1980. Wanda enjoyed teaching, animals and arts and crafts. She enjoyed her friends and family, was quick witted and had an amazing sense of humor.
Wanda is survived by her son, Jason of Las Vegas, and grandson, Slatter; two sisters, Sharon Schmidt and husband, Bob of Buckeye, Arizona, and Debbie Young of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Susan Hansen of Lincoln, Nebraska and Janet Hansen of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two nieces, Sheila Hansen of North Platte, Nebraska and Mackenzie Young of Longmont, Colorado; two nephews, Brian Hansen (Barb) of Sutherland, Nebraska and James Hansen (Erica) of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Hansen and Janet (Malsbury) Hansen; her brothers, Donn Wayne Hansen and Dwight Wesley Hansen.
Her family will have a celebration of life in Superior, Nebraska with burial of her ashes at Evergreen Cemetery in the spring of 2025.
