L-N Elementary Students have Christmas Party

The Lawrence-Nelson Elementary school hosted a Christmas party for the students last Wednesday afternoon. The party began at 1:30 and lasted until 3:30 p.m. The teachers presented a well organized event, students played many fun-filled games all afternoon.

Fifth grade teacher Andy Peterson, stood still as he played the Christmas tree in the game "Decorate the Christmas Tree." Fifth grade teacher Andy Peterson, elementary physical education teacher Nolan KaWata and elementary secretary Kelsey Faimon, all played a part in the next game. A very big slot machine was made, with the teachers inside of it. When a student pulled the lever, if all three teachers brought up the same card, the student won a prize.

The next game, Pac-Man, involved half of the basketball court. A large ring was placed on the floor, keeping a huge amount of multi-colored balls inside of it. There were two students per teem. The first student laid down on a wheeled board, holding a laundry basket in front of them. The second student pushed the first student around on the gymnasium floor, by holding up his feet. The idea was to capture as many balls as they could. The duo that captured the most balls, won a prize. The afternoon was filled with laughter as the students participated in all the events.

At the conclusion of the afternoon, students were dismissed for the day. The students are now on Christmas break, and will return to school in early January. L-N elementary is a school that offers a curriculum that seeks to establish integrity and offer a safe learning environment for all. A healthy and inspiring learning environment is the goal.
