Jewell City Council

The Jewell City Council met at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at City Hall. Those in attendance were Mayor Darrell Bohnert, Council members Don Delzeit, Josh Burks, Gaye Daniels, Derek Birdsell and Bob Freeman, and Kristie Anderson, city clerk.

Bret Simmelink provided the monthly maintenance report. Simmelink reported all the work he did this last month. He borrowed a water valve pit vacuum to clean out some of the valve pits that were filled with asphalt.

Kristie Anderson presented the monthly clerk’s report. She told about the process of switching employees to direct deposit. Anderson also gave an update on the schedule for the community center and motel.

The land bank board provided their last month’s minutes and also provided their year to date financial reports. Mayor Bohnert approved Shelby Bohnert three-year term as a land bank representative.

In other business, Anderson presented a domestic animal permit from G. Spitz. All approved. Tanya Schleifer’s application for library board trustee was passed.

There was no business for the community center.

The council moved into executive session to discuss bonuses and wages. Wages and bonuses were approved as discussed
