Eileen Catherine (Hoelting) Buescher, 100, Lawrence, Nebraska, died on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at Heritage at College View, Hastings, Nebraska. Rosary was at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, and Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 a.m., both at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Lawrence, with Father Denton Morris officiating. Burial wasin St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel, Lawrence. Memorials can be directed to St. Stephen Cemetery. Eileen was born on Jan. 14, 1924, to William and Dora Hoelting on a farm four miles southeast of Lawrence. Eileen walked to St. Stephen school until the eighth grade, then started working in Hastings. She married Edgar Buescher on April 20, 1944, at St. Stephen Catholic Church. They were married 71 years and lived on a farm six miles south of Lawrence, where they raised their six children.
Eileen was a devout Catholic, member of St. Stephen Altar Society and Gold Star Sisters. She liked to visit, play cards, embroidery, make quilts and ceramics. In later years she and Edgar enjoyed traveling. She was a loving, hardworking, patient, warm and a good-natured person. Above all, she loved her family.
Eileen is survived by four sons, Walter Buescher, Hastings, Michael (Frances) Buescher, Lawrence, Gary (Sheryl) Buescher, Lawrence, Leland (Jolene) Buescher, Glenvil, Nebraska; two daughters, Mary Ann Fulton, Lincoln, Nebraska, Jane (Michael) Streff, Lincoln, Nebraska; one brother, Leonard Hoelting; one sister, Marie Choquette; 21 grandchildren and 19 spouses; 64 great-grandchildren and six spouses; 10 great-great grandchildren; extensive group of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar; daughter-in-law, Deanna Buescher; brothers, Daniel, LeRoy, Vernon, Arthur, Francis, Richard, Eldon and Victor; sister, Eva Krebsbach.
