The first issue of the Superior Public Schools Alumni Newsletter was distributed electronically to 265 Superior alumni and the search continues to secure the email addresses of additional alumni.
The goal is to distribute electronic newsletters several times a year.
This isn’t the first such attempt. There have been multiple attempts to build a database of Superior alumni. The most successful such attempt was connected to the START Committee that function in Superior during Gov. Kay Orr’s administration. That committee received a grant which funded the mailed distribution of printed newsletters.
However, keeping a database of postal addresses is quite a task as people frequently move and the database soon becomes out-of-date.
Logan Christiancy, the schools’ technology director, said, “While we are still working on collecting more data, we recognize the need for a comprehensive platform to keep you informed about district updates and extracurricular activities at Superior Public Schools. This effort aims to foster stronger community involvement and contribute to the overall growth of Superior.
