The watchful eye of the Superior community was demonstrated on the weekend after two bicycles parked near the back door of the house occupied by the editor of this newspaper and his wife were missed.
Before the owners had an opportunity to notify the local police department of the theft, the chief reported he was on the thieves’ trail.
Eyewitnesses throughout the community reported seeing two suspicious people on the home’s porch Saturday night and seeing the bicycles being ridden around town on Sunday.
By mid-afternoon the bikes had been recovered and returned to their owners.
