First drawing held for Superior Bucks

Thanksgiving is only a week away and Superior merchants are preparing for the holiday shopping season.

The first Superior Bucks drawing of the 2024 holiday season was held Monday morning on KRFS Radio. The names of four lucky winners were drawn and each will receive 50 Superior Bucks which may be spent like cash in participating Superior business firms.

Winners this week were Vicki Williams, Autumn Serrano, Marlys McClure and Linda Reiners. The next drawing for four more 50 buck winners will be held on Monday. Registration slips that are available in participating stores are to be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce office before then.

This issue of your newspaper contains stories and advertisements that traditionally would have run in next week’s edition. However, because of the unreliability of the U.S. Mails, many have chose to have their ads published this week. All readers are encouraged to carefully read the advertisements and check the dates for the various promotions.

Monday the postal service’s delivery truck did not bring mail to Superior. Instead one of the local office’s dedicated employees made a special trip to get the Superior mail. It was late in getting here but it got here. That action shows the local dedication of postal employees. They aren’t to blame for the unreliable service.
