Friday was a special day in Jewell. Two businesses opened! Both are located at 213 Main Street in Jewell. The building is often referred to as "the old Merc." The owners of the businesses are Ryan and Ashton Wilson Cates.
Ryan Cates, owner of Neb-Kan Consultant Service, has moved his office from his home to the Jewell location. Cates graduated from Belleville High School with the Class of 2005, then graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in agronomy.
He has been involved with Neb-Kan Consulting Service since 2011 and in ownership since 2014. The ag-business focuses on north-central Kansas and south-central Nebraska.
Ashton Cates, owner of ARC Boutique, has been running her business from her home and online for two years. She graduated from Jewell High School with the Class of 2007 and is an elementary teacher with Rock Hills Elementary School.
On Friday, her boutique was welcomed to the Jewell business community by number of shoppers. She features an array of sweaters, tops, T-shirts, slacks and skirts. Plus, a variety of decorative items, candles and figurines along with some religious items.
Before the shopping began, there was a Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The mayor of Jewell, Darrell Bohnert, officially welcomed the businesses and his sentiments were echoed by Jewell Chamber of Commerce President, Peg Bohnert. Ryan and Ashton were joined by their sons, Kasen, Ruger and Kruze, as the ribbon was officially cut. Check out ARC Boutique Facebook page for the business hours.
Congratulations to Ryan and Ashton Cates on the opening of these two businesses in Jewell.
