The USD 273 questions involved possible issuance of bonds to fund projects for the Beloit school district.

If it passes, the Mankato measure will eliminate the tax on the gross earnings derived from savings accounts, stock and bonds. This intangible tax was created by the Kansas legislature in the early 1980s as a way for cities and counties to reduce their reliance on property tax, Jewell County along with the the cities of Burr Oak, Esbon, Jewell and Mankato and 14 townships have an intangible tax of varying rates, The Mankato rate has been 2.25 percent. It was estimated to generate $11,374 for Mankato in the 2025 budget year. Anthony Roy, Mankato city administrator, earlier estimated for a house with an assessed valuation of $100,000 the tax amounted to $30.29.
Question for Holmwood Yes 9, [69.23] No 4 {30.77]. This means the majority of the voters in Holmwood township approved the plan to transfer all powers of the township board to the county commissioners.
Nuckolls County election
The 2024 general election brought out 2,288 Nuckolls County voters. Statewide the voter turnout was the second highest in the state’s history. Locally the polls were busy throughout the day. Of those voting in Nuckolls County, 446 cast early ballots and 1,842 went to the polls on Tuesday.

Nuckolls County voters joined their statewide counterparts and supported a measure that enshrines the state’s curent ban on abortions after the 12th week of pregnancy in the state constitution (1,582 to 611). They rejected a competing measure that sought to expand abortion rights.
Nebraska voters approved two measures that will create a system for the use and manufacture of medical marijuana, if the measure survives an ongoing legal challenge.( Measures 437 and 438) In Nuckolls County, Measure 437 received 1,112 votes for and 959 against. Measure 438 received 1,017 for and 1,021 against.
Voters also repealled a law that allocates millions of dollars in taxpayer money to fund private school tuition. (831 to retain 1,273 to repeal).
Finally they approved a measure that will require all Nebraska employers to provide at least 40 hours of paid sick leave to their employees (1,362 to 670).
