And then it was over . . .
There was just silence . . .
Well, OK, maybe that silence note wasn’t correct.
A couple of comments on the election.
• I thought I was correct in saying Nebraska residents really didn’t want to be known as a state that welcomed people into their state to “Kill” their babies via abortion. We not only stopped “Liberals” from putting an imagined “Right to an abortion” into the Nebraska Constitution, but improved the current limits (although still not great) on abortions.
• Of all the other state-wide election questions I found interesting was the victory of Deb Fischer over Dan Osborn for the position of a Senator from Nebraska to the federal government. Really, who even heard of Osborn before the election process started? It was interesting to see just how many votes all that money (from who knows where?) could buy. Even though there has to be more than a few “Rich” people who tried to buy this Nebraska Senate Seat with a person who said he was “Independent.” Nebraska citizens realized many (if not most) positions he verbalized seemed to be closer the Liberal viewpoints than to Conservative view points.
Just a couple of comments on the overall federal election that saw the Republicans turn back an increasingly “Liberal” government.
• Barrack Obama’s name was not on any ballot form in the nation. However, I think he was the biggest “Loser” in the whole election process. From all I’ve read and heard, Obama had a part in Biden’s decision (if, indeed he had a decision to make) to get out of the 2024 election race. Over the last four years, Obama had a voice (if not the major voice) in most all major Democratic decisions in operating our government. The “Liberal” government process may have been derailed by the 2024 election, and Obama’s influence behind that liberal slant may no longer be there.
• The southern U. S. – Mexico border will certainly be changed by this election. I know it will be changed for the better. I suspect most Americans have feelings for those in the world with less than what most Americans have, but they also want a chance to control what happens in the process. What is called the “American Dream” will not remain a dream by allowing untold number of non-Americans into the country, all at the same time.
• Energy . . . I think most people have positive feelings for ‘wind,’ ‘solar,’ ‘nuclear’ forms of producing electricity by which the whole world is reliant on. However, I don’t think most of us want that forced down our throats. It was coming about, but just not as fast as the “Liberals” wanted it to come. In addition, most all people did not understand why the U. S. went from being energy independent to once again buying so much oil from overseas.
• Those are my major impressions of last week’s election. The world will continue to change and we can only pray that the changes to come will be positive.

Twins . . .
It has been said that everyone has a ‘twin’ someplace in the world. I’m beginning to believe that more and more.
I mentioned years ago that while attending a cousin’s wedding anniversary in southwestern Nebraska, I saw many uncles, aunts and cousins from right here in southcentral Nebraska and I didn’t know the names of any of them.
Well. I had that same experience last week in Grand Island. The first experience came when I saw a man from the back who looked exactly like my brother-in-law, Jack Bradley. However, I remember well the funeral service for Jack, so I knew it could not be him.
The second occasion came just shortly after that when I saw Phyllis Brockman walking briskly across a parking lot. However, I have actually met Phyllis several times in the past few months and surely didn’t think she could move as quickly as this lady did and was quite a bit younger as well.
O K, with these two experiences in mind, I was at the Veteran’s medical clinic in Grand Island the same day as those other two visions. I looked over the crowd and saw Marge Kohmetscher in a chair in the waiting room. At least that person sure looked a lot like Marge. As I approached her, she gave an indication that she recognized me as well.
For goodness sake . . . it was Marge.
Life is so entertaining and fun. Don’t give up on it.
