The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders volleyball team ended their 2024 campaign with a sub-district play-in game loss to Hampton, at Meridian, Monday.
The Raiders closed out their regular season schedule last Tuesday at the Franklin triangular. They downed Giltner, 25-13 and 25-14, in two sets. They dropped host Franklin, 25-21 and 25-22, in two sets. The Raiders made Hampton work for the win taking them to four sets, 21-25, 23-25, 25-9 and 26-24. Lawrence-Nelson finished the season with a 12-25 record.
Kara Menke led the Raider killers against Giltner with nine. Hanna Skinner added seven kills. Brynn Harrison contributed three kills. Codi Cannaday and Maddy Laughlin produced a kill apiece. Josie Hajny slashed through two aces. Menke and Skinner each scored with an ace.
Menke held the net with 14 kills against Franklin. Skinner downloaded seven kills. Kali Cassell, Hajny and Natalia Wehrman had a kill each. Menke loaded up with two aces. Hajny and Addi McCloskey each scored with an ace.
It was the final game of their high school volleyball career for mainstay team members, McCloskey, Val Koehler, Skinner and Menke.
