L/N Raiders earn easy victory in final regular season game 72-20
Friday evening, the L-N Raider Football team completed their regular season game with a 72-20 victory over Giltner High School on the home field in Lawrence. The victory gave the Raiders a regular season record of 5-3 and earned them a spot in the Class D-2 State Playoffs.
The Raiders had most everything working for them in the first half of this game. They scored on each of their first four possessions of the first period and three of their four possessions in the second period. The score by quarter was a follows:

Secondly, the Raider defense held Giltner to only 15 yards of offense in the first period. Game notes include a number of good defensive plays throughout the game. Early on Cody Brockman knocked down a Giltner pass; Ace Wulf and Carson Vaughn combined to tackle a Giltner runner behind the line of scrimmage; Colton Menke recorded a sack. All together the Raiders dominated the game.
The scoring parade went as follows: #1: Wyatt Frey scored the first six points of the game and also added the PAT. 8-0
#2: Jack Williams scored on a one yd. run and Frey added the PAT. 16-0.
#3: Following a Giltner punt, a one play scoring drive saw Frey complete a 35 yard pass to Aiden Zikmund. Williams ran the PAT. 24-0.
#4: Following the next Giltner punt, L-N needed five plays to score. The touchdown came on a 13 yard run by Jack Williams. Ace Wulf ran the PAT. 32-0.
#5: After a Giltner touchdown, L-N took five plays to move the ball 52 yards to score which came on a 10 yard run by Jack Williams. The PAT was good with a Frey to Carson Vaughn pass, 40-6
#6: The teams exchanged intercepted passes before the Raiders needed only three plays to move the ball 50 yards to score on an 11 yard run by Williams. The PAT saw Aiden Zikmund run for the distance. 48-6.
#7: The last touchdown before half time came via the air waves. It came as a three play drive, all of which were pass plays. The touchdown came on a 31 yard pass from Frey to Carter Griffis. The PAT was also a pass from Frey to Colton Menke. The score came with 14 seconds left in the first half. 56-6
#7: The third period was scoreless for L-N, but several minutes into the 4th period, Aiden Zikmund skirted the left end and raced 12 yards to score. The PAT was an Ace Wulf run. 64-6
#8: Time was running out in the 4th period, but L-N had possession with about two minutes left in the game when Ace Wulf was given the ball and he simply raced through the right side of the line and out ran all defenders enroute to a 45 yard dash to the end zone. The PAT was a Jasper Elledge pass to Colton Menke. 72-20
