The Superior Wildcat Marching Band received a Divison 1-Superior rating at the Minden BandFest Parade. The band also received a Division Excellent on their field show. The band is under the direction of Allison White,
Music filled the streets on Minden Saturday during the 34th annual Bandfest. The event featured 37 school marching bands in the parade and seven band in field competition.
The event was sponsored by the Minden Chamber of Commerce. The competitive marching parade began at 1 p.m. with junior high bands leading the way followed by high school bands. Class D bands marched first with the bands gradually working up to Class A bands at the end.
Field competition followed.
Judging the event were Dave Klein, Kearney; Janet Palmer, Holdrege and Paul Ramp, Friend.
Scores were awarded in three categories: music - with a possible of 40 points; marching with possible of 30 points and general effect- with a possible of 30 points. Bands achieving an overall score of 80 points or higher received a superior rating, 60-79 points an excellent rating and 40-59 points a good rating. All bands who received a superior rank in the street marching competition received a trophy presented at the field prior to field competition.

Junior High: Palmer, Central City, Arapahoe, Faith Christian, Blue Hill, Holdrege and Minden
Class D: Loup City, Overton, Wilcox-Hildreth, Pleasanton, Medicine Valley, Chambers, Litchfield, Kenesaw, North Platte Catholic, SEM and Axtell
Class C: Hastings St. Cecilia, Centura, Amherst, St. Paul, Arapahoe, Sandy Creek, Twin River, Gibbon, Alma, Superior, Hershey, Southern Valley and Wood River
Class B: Broken Bow, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Adams Central and Minden
Class A: McCook
Competing in field competition were Superior, Hershey, Holdrege, Kearney Catholic, Adams Central and McCook.
