SHS volleyball

The Superior High School volleyball team downed the Heartland Huskies at Henderson Thursday, 25-12, 25-13 and 25-14, in three sets. They won their opening round Southern Nebraska Conference match over Sandy Creek, 25-12 and 25-13, to advance to a match with Fairbury at Milford Tuesday.

Reagan Meyers dominated the net against Heartland with 23 kills. Hallie Bargen contributed eight kills. Ava Kirchhoff plowed down four kills. Chloe Mundorf and Cora Schnakenberg put away three kills. Sadie Cornell and Jordan Duncan pounded away for two kills each. Maddi Bargen, Faith Butler and Olivia Smullins had a kill apiece. Meyers lined through five aces. H. Bargen and Schnakenberg contributed two aces each.

Meyers put up 16 kills against Sandy Creek. H. Bargen posted three kills. Cornell and Schnakenberg listed two kills apiece. Duncan, Kirchhoff and Mundorf accounted for one kill each. H. Bargen and Schnakenberg accounted for two aces each. Cornell put through an ace.

The Wildcats will close out the conference tournament today (Thursday) at Milford. Superior visits Sandy Creek Tuesday for a match.
