The Lawrence-Nelson High School volleyball team picked up two much needed wins against D1 teams with winning records.
The Raiders sent the Nebraska Lutheran Knights back to their castle with a 25-20, 20-25- 25-18 and 25-22, loss last Tuesday at Lawrence. They handed the Red Cloud Warriors a 11-25, 25-15, 25-16 and 25-22., four set loss at Lawrence Thursday.
Kara Menke held the net for 22 kills against Nebraska Lutheran. Brynn Harrison and Hanna Skinner added five kills apiece. Josie Hajny posted four kills. Maddy Laughlin had a kill. Harrison zipped through three aces. Addi McCloskey and Skinner threaded through two aces each. Hajny and Menke added an ace each.
Kara Menke stood up for 15 kills against Red Cloud.. Harrison and Skinner nailed six kills each. Hajny had three kills. Codi Cannaday landed two kills, Laughlin and McCloskey had a kill apiece. Harrison and Menke pushed through two aces each. Hajny, Laughlin, McCloskey and Skinner each scored with an ace. The Raiders hosted the Blue Hill Bobcats at Lawrence Tuesday. Match results were unavailable at press time. Bruning-Davenport-Shickley is hosting a triangular match with High Plains Community today (Thursday). The Twin Valley Conference tournament gets underway Saturday at Shelton and concludes Monday. Lawrence-Nelson completes their regular season schedule Tuesday with a triangular match at Franklin along with Giltner.
