It’s been a wild ride for the Rock Hills Grizzlies volleyball team. After losing an early season match to St. John’s-Tipton, they have piled up win after win to reach their current 17-1 record with a 15 game consecutive winning streak.
The Grizzlies found Tescott to their liking. They visited last Tuesday and departed with two wins. They downed host Tescott, 25-23 and 25-15, in two sets for their first win of the night. They swept the Chase Kats in two identical 25-10 sets. Rock Hills revisited Tescott Saturday with success on a larger scale. They returned home with five more wins added to their record. They downed the Bennington Bulldogs 25-21 and 25-13 in two sets. They met Bennington again later in the day and emerged with a two-set sweep The Grizzles faced arch-rival St. John’s-Tipton and Lakeside at Mankato Tuesday with match results unavailable at press time.
Halle Mizner slammed down seven kills against Tescott in their first meeting. Taygen Meier listed three kills. Dacey Beck and Savannah Coil added two kills apiece. Alex Fogo and Bethany Simmelink recorded a kill apiece. Simmelink sliced through five aces. Faith Reinert lined through three aces. Carsyn Vizner knifed through two aces. Coil and Mizner scored with an ace apiece. Ally Beck settled in for six digs. Brynlee Manning and Vizner added two digs each. Fogo, Mizner, Reinert and Simmelink each had a dig.
Mizner stood tall at the net for eight kills against Chase. Coil Spiked down five kills. Vizner landed three kills. Fogo and Simmelink had a kill apiece. Mizner spliced through five aces. Vizner sent through four aces. Coil was good for two aces. D. Beck and Simmelink each scored with an ace. Coil posted three digs for the match. A. Beck, D. Beck and Mizner lifted up two digs each. Reinert and Vizner had a dig each.
Mizner claimed 12 kills against Bennington in the first tournament match. Coil pounded down five kills. D. Beck registered two kills. Fogo, Vizner and Simmelink had a kill apiece. A. Beck Wended her way to 23 digs. Mizner set up 12 digs. D. Beck popped up 11 digs. Simmelink and Vizner secured nine digs each. Coil put up four digs.
Mizner was the lead killer with 13 in the second Bennington match. Simmelink accounted for four digs. Coil contributed three kills Vizner tallied two kills A. Beck, D. Beck and Manning claimed a kill each.Vizner needled through three aces. A. Beck claimed two aces. D. Beck and Mizner each scored with an ace.A. Beck contributed 27 digs for the Grizzlies. D. Beck bumped up 19 digs. Mizner secured 15 digs. Simmelink produced 13 digs. Vizner landed seven digs. Coil finished with four digs. Fogo added two digs. Manning had a dig.
Mizner slotted eight kills against Trego. Manning took care of two kills. A. Beck, D. Beck, Coil, Meier and Simmelink each posted a kill. Coil slipped through three aces. Simmelink piloted through two aces. A. Beck and Mizner each scored with an ace. A. Beck scoured the court surface for 13 digs. D. Beck cleaned up with nine digs. Vizner played her way to five digs. Mizner added four digs. Fogo and Simmelink wound up with three digs each.
Mizner led the killers against Tescott with eight. Coil, Fogo and Manning jammed down three kills each. Vizner notched two kills. Simmelink had a kill. Simmellink lit the scoreboard with eight aces. Beck hit for two aces. Reinert and Vizner each scored with an ace. A. Beck led the diggers with 15. Simmelink picked up 12 digs. Vizner waas good for nine digs. D. Beck handled five digs. Coil and Reinert took care of two digs each.
The Grizzlies host Sylvan-Lucas and Pike Valley Tuesday for a triangular match at Mankato.
