L-N football falls to B-D-S 42-22

It was a rough outing for the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders as they fell to the Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Eagles at Shickley Friday.

The game was closer than the score indicates. A few Raider defensive lapses allowed the Eagles some easy points. B-D-S led 14-0 after the first quarter. Lawrence-Nelson scored 16 points in the second to pull within 28-16 at the half. Each team scored six points in the third quarter with B-D-S holding a 34-22 lead going into the final period. The Raiders were unable to close the gap as B-D-S added another score to win 42-22. The Raiders record sat at 2-2.

Wyatt Frey completed 10 of his 24 pass attempts. He completed two passes for touchdowns and 143 yards. Frey was intercepted twice.

Jace Hoelting reeled in four passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Aidan Zikmund hauled in four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown. Jack Williams had two receptions good for 14 yards.

Frey carried the ball 14 times for 73 yards and one touchdown. Williams gained 80 yards with his 14 carries,

Frey notched eight solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles. Williams finished with five solo tackles and six assisted tackles. Zikmund had two solo tackles and three assisted tackles. Ace Wulf recorded three solo tackles and seven assisted tackles. Grahym Beck was good for two solo tackles and seven assisted tackles. Kole Thompson hit two solo tackles and had five assisted tackles. Zikmund contributed two solo tackles and thee assists. Caleb Griffis accounted for two solo tackle and an assisted tackle. Caden Culbertson had a solo tackle and two assisted tackles. Hoelting had two assisted tackles. Cody Brockman added an assisted tackle.

The Raiders host the Deshler Dragons at Lawrence Friday. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
