The funeral for James “Jim” Johanek, age 71 of Cawker City, will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 26) at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Esbon. Mr. Johanek died Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Osborne County Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Angie; children, Taneasha Eckstrom, Andrea Morris, Zediah Timmons; six grandchildren; brother, Ron Johanek of Esbon; and sisters, Sharon Bergman of Smith Center, Nancy Stortz of Glen Elder, and Tracy Decker of Smith Center.
A rosary service was at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jim Johanek Memorial Fund to be determined at a later date. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
