The Jewell County commissioners met Sept. 9. Commissioners Ed Duskie, and Brent Beck were present. Myka Zadina and Carla Waugh, county clerk, attended the meeting.
Joel Elkins, general superintendent, said they will be adding some gravel to 160 Road to reduce the blowing rock dust. They are preparing for fall harvest. The commissioners went into executive session to discuss non-elected personnel with Joel Elkins present. Regular session resumed with no action taken.
Commissioners approved the certified powertrain and hydraulic rebuild on the dozer from Foley Equipment with a 5 year warranty on the dozer.
Karen Boden, Pawnee Mental Health board member, requested Jewell County commissioners declare September as recovery month. She read the proclamation for recovery month and the commissioners proclaimed September as Mental Health Recovery Month.
Don Jacobs, sheriff, said one dispatcher resigned. He discussed the AED equipment in the courthouse and placing a box of Narcan with each AED.
The commissioners did not meet the week of Sept. 3, 2024.
