SHS volleyball

The Superior High School volleyball team faced off against Kenesaw and Doniphan-Trumbull at a triangular match last Tuesday at Doniphan. Superior swept Kenesaw, 25-16 and 15-19, in two sets. They took down Doniphan-Trumbull, 25-13 and 25-13, in a two-set sweep. They took on D-1 powerhouse Bruning-Davenport Shickley at Superior, Thursday, and earned a four-set, 25-22, 25-15, 17-25 and 25-19, win.

The Wildcats endured a grueling three matches Saturday at the Sandy Creek Invitational. They swept Meridian, 25-9 and 25-21, in two sets. They downed Ravenna, 25-14 and 25-20, in two sets. They finished up with a two set, 25-22 and 25-11 sweep of Fillmore Central. The Wildcats now hold a 10-2 record and third place in the wildcard point standing. Superior took on Sutton, at Sutton, Tuesday, with match results unavailable at press time.

Reagan Meyers led the Wildcat killers against Kenesaw with 13. Halle Bargen chipped down three kills. Ava Kirchhoff and Cora Schnakenberg added two kills apiece. Faith Butler, Sadie Cornell and Khloe Mundorf each made a kill. Meyers came through with two aces. Bargen scored with an ace. Meyers swept up nine digs. Cornell made her way to seven digs. Bargen tallied six digs. Butler slapped up two digs. Jordan Duncan had a dig.

Meyers topped the Superior kill chart against Doniphan-Trumbull with 11. Schnakenberg was good for two kills. Bargen made a kill. Meyers lashed through three aces. Cornell sliced through two aces. Bargen, Butler and Mia Gardner each scored with an ace. Meyers lifted out 11 digs. Gardner listed eight digs. Butler finished with seven digs. Bargen recorded six digs. Cornell added four digs. Mundorf and Schnekenberg registered two digs apiece.

Meyers controlled the net against B-D-S with 38 kills. Bargen accounted for seven kills. Schnakenberg slammed down four kills. Duncan and Mundorf collected three kills each. Meyers laced through six aces. Bargen, Butler, Cornell and Schnakenberg each scored with an ace. Butler and Meyers tallied 18 digs each. Cornell raked up 17 digs. Bargen contributed 12 digs. Gardner set up eight digs. Mundorf and Schnakenberg contributed three digs apiece. Kirchhoff had two digs.

Meyers stood up for 14 kills against Fillmore Central. Bargen was good with four kills. Schnakenberg collected three kills. Cornell and Kirchhoff had a kill each. Bargen led the ace attack with two. Gardner and Meyers each scored with an ace. Cornell compiled 14 digs. Gardner lifted up 10 digs. Butler pushed up eight digs. Bargen listed seven digs. Mundorf added three digs. Schnakenberg owned two digs. .

Meyers stood tall for 15 kills against Ravenna. Bargen posted four kills. Kirchhoff put away three kills. Mundorf and Schnakenberg had a kill apiece. Bargen zipped through three aces. Butler scored with an ace. Butler, Cornell and Meyers accounted for five digs each. Gardner came up with three digs. Bargen and Olivia Smullins had a dig each.

Meyers led the Wildcat killers against Sandy Creek with 18. Bargen sorted out four kills. Kirchhoff contributed three kills. Schnakenberg put down three kills. Butler and Mundorf had a kill each. Butler and Meyers both scored with an ace. Bargen cleaned up with 15 digs. Gardner snapped up 13 digs. Butler contributed eight digs. Cornell and Kirchhoff claimed five digs each. Schnakenberg was good for one dig.

Superior hosts a triangular match at the high school gymnasium Saturday where they host Alma and Blue Hill.
