Rock Hills volleyball

The Rock Hills Grizzlies volleyball team continued their winning ways. They downed the Osborne Bulldogs, 25-16 and 25-13, for a two-set sweep at Mankato last Tuesday. They added a two-set sweep, 25-15 and 25-11, over the Thunder Ridge Longhorns, at the home triangular match.

Rock Hills visited Tescott, Tuesday for a triangular match with Tescott and Southern Cloud. Match results were unavailable at press time.

Halle Mizner topped the Rock Hills kill chart against Thunder Ridge with seven. Dacey Beck, Savannah Coil and Bethany Simmelink listed two kills apiece. Ally Beck had a kill. Faith Reinert slammed through four aces. Coil lined through two aces. Teygan Meier and Mizner each scored with an ace. Mizner was top digger with six. A. Beck and Reinert turned in four digs apiece. Carsyn Vizner posted three digs. Meier had a dig.

Mizner held the net for eight kills against Osborne. Vizner knocked down five kills. D. Beck and Coil added a kill apiece. Mizner sailed through two aces. A. Beck scored with an ace. A. Beck cleared the floor with 10 digs. D. Beck and and Mizner came through with four digs apiece. Simmelink and Vizner contributed three digs each. Coile finished the match with two digs.

The Grizzlies endured a grueling five-match ordeal at the Solomon Tournament, at Solomon High School, Saturday. Their endurance paid off as they emerged from the maelstrom with five wins to improve to 10-1 for the season. They downed Elyria Christian in two sets, 25-14 and 29-27. The Wakefield Bombers were the next victim being swept in two sets 25-18 and 25-2. Peabody-Burns was vanquished in two sets, 25-13 and 25-8. The Eli-Saline Cardinals were desalinized in two-sets, 25-23 and 25-16. The Solomon Gorillas were caged up in two sets, 25-16 and 25-18.

Statistics were unavailable for the Elyria Christian match.

Coil, Simmelink and Carzyn Vizner scored with three aces apiece. A. Beck collected nine digs. D. Beck cleaned up seven digs. Mizner added five kills. Simmelink landed two digs. Coil had one dig.

Mizner racked up seven kills against Wakefield. Coil stood in with six kills. Vizner stepped in with five kills. A. Beck listed three kills. D. Beck and Fogo had a kill apiece. Vizner was the ace maker with 11. D. Beck lined through three aces. Simmelinke laced through two aces. Coil h ad an ace. A. Beck swept up four digs. Coil finished the match with three digs.

Mizner held the net against Peabody-Burns with seven kills. Coil swatted down six kills. Vizner claimed four kills. Fogo took care of two kills. Brynlee Manning had one kill. Coil lined through nine aces. D. Beck sliced through four aces. Faith Reinert contributed two aces. A. Beck and Simmelink each scored with an ace. D. Beck, Taygen Meier and Vizner recorded three digs apiece. Coil, Mizner and Simmelink swept in two digs each. A. Beck had a dig.

Coil, Mizner and Simmelink contributed four kills each against Solomon. D. Beck and Fogo contributed three kills. Vizner finished the match with two kills. A. Beck lashed through four aces. Simmelink plowed through two aces. Simmelink was a human shovel with 16 digs. A. Beck had nine digs. Vizner set up five digs. D. Beck lifted up four digs. Coil put up two digs. Reinert had a dig.

The Grizzlies return to Tescott Saturday for the Tescott Tournament. Rock Hills hosts a triangular match at Mankato Tuesday with Lakeside and arch-rival St. John's-Tipton.
