Nuckolls County Knights football

The Nuckolls County Middle school Knights added another win Monday as they downed the Thayer Central Titans at Superior Monday. The Knights are the combined Superior and Lawrence-Nelson middle schools.

The Knights prevailed in the game by a 44-0 score and a 2-0 record.

Mike Sander, head coach of the Knights, said “We played an aggressive and fundamental game of football. We are grateful for the win.”

Camden Wehrman completed six of his nine passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

Kade Peters landed three receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. Joel Hoelting picked up 44 yards with his two receptions. Levi Clark turned his lone reception into a 30 yard touchdown.

Wehrman gained 123 yards on 11 carries. He scored two touchdowns. Peters had eight carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Rhen Siemsen made two carries for 10 yards.

Peters picked up 11 tackles. Barrett Bruns collected nine tackles. Wehrman made seven tackles. Hoelting accounted for six tackles. Ian Zikmund recorded four tackles. Siemsen listed three tackles. Korbin Kirchhoff netted two tackles. Easton Payton made one tackle.

The Knights take to the field Monday, in Superior, where they host the Deshler Dragons. Kick off is set for 4 p.m.
