RHHS volleyball off to fast start

The Rock Hills girls volleyball team is off to a fast start. They swept the Natoma Tigers 25-3 and 25-16 in two sets last Tuesday at Tipton. They couldn’t quite keep up with their nemesis, St. John’s-Tipton and fell in three sets, 25-11, 14-25 and 18-25, to sport a 3-1 record. They hosted a triangular match at Mankato Tuesday with Osborne and Thunder Ridge with match results unavailable at press time.

Halle Mizner led the Rock Hills killers against Natoma with nine. Savannah Coil, Ally Beck and Carsyn Vizner posted two kills apiece. Alex Fogo and Bethany Simmelink each recorded a kill.

Dacey Beck and Simmelink plowed through five aces each. Taygen Meier scored with an ace.

A. Beck, Meier and Vizner found their way to three digs each. Simmelink finished with two digs. D. Beck had a dig.

Mizner had 11 kills at the net against St. John’s-Tipton. Coil stepped in with seven kills. Simmelink and Vizner made three kills apiece. A. Beck and Fogo recorded a kill each.

D. Beck, Mizner and Simmelink each scored with an ace.

A. Beck swept the floor with 15 digs. Mizner contributed seven digs. Simmelink was good for five digs. Vizner chipped in three digs. Coil and Mizner contributed two digs each. Meier had one dig.

The Grizzlies travel to Solomon Saturday for the Solomon Tournament. Tescott hosts a triangular match, Tuesday with Rock Hills and Southern Cloud.
