It was a tough outing for the Lawrence-Nelson volleyball team when they were swept in three sets, 12-25, 16-15 and 9-25, at Lawrence Thursday. The Raiders hosted the Exeter-Millligan-Friend Timberwolves Tuesday with match results unavailable at press time.
Superior possessed a formidable height advantage at the net and used it to their advantage, out killing the Raiders 36-14.
Kara Menke led the Raider killers with nine. Hanna Skinner added four kills. Josie Hajny finished the match with one kill.
Hajny scored with two aces.
Addi McCloskey swept up nine digs. Menke and Skinner listed four digs each. Brynn Harrison accounted for three digs. Bayleigh Bohlen, Hajny and Val Koehler contributed two digs each. Kali Cassell, Codi Cannaday and Maddy Laughlin registered a dig each.
The Raiders visit Deshler today (Thursday) for a match with the Dragons. They have a busy day Saturday when they compete at the four-team Exeter-Milligan-Friend Invitational being played at Friend. Lawrence-Nelson visits Harvard, Tuesday, for a triangular match with Kenesaw and Harvard.
