Homecoming Week at Rock Hills High School has been busy!The festivities kicked off with various activities including the first home volleyball game of the season, a spirited spirit week, student contests and an action-packed dodgeball tournament.
The highlight of the week is when the Rock Hills varsity football team takes on Thunder Ridge Friday for the Homecoming game. The coronation of the king and queen will begin at 6:30 p.m.,followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.
To wrap up the Homecoming Week, the Rock Hills High School student council will host “Casino Night”on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Meet the candidates for Homecoming King and Queen:
Taygen Meier: Taygen is the daughter of Roger and Mary Ann Meier. Taygen is FBLA historian and plays volleyball. She is also a member of the cheer team and the Rockettes dance team. Taygen plans to attend college to become an ultrasound technician.
Eli Vance: Eli is the son of Stuart and Nickia Vance. Eli is senior class student council representative and FFA parliamentarian. He plays football and basketball and runs track. Eli plans to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture and plans to be a game warden.
Jada Eilert: Jada is the daughter of Jason and Jessie Eilert. Jada is FFA president, plays in the Rock Hills band and is a member of the National Honors Society. Jada plans to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to study agronomy or agriculture l business.
Aaron Underwood: Aaron is the son of Ervin and Kristin Underwood. Aaron is FFA vice president, plays football and runs track. Aaron plans to attend the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to study diversified agriculture management.
Faith Reinert: Faith is the daughter of Bryan Reinert. Faith is FFA treasurer and plays trumpet for the Rock Hills band. She also participates in powerlifting, plays volleyball and runs track. Faith plans to continue her work with the Army National Guard,on an 8-year contract and attend Kansas State University to major in animal science.
Cooper McDill: Cooper is the son of Landon and Amy McDill. Cooper plays football and basketball, runs track
and is a member of the National Honor Society. Cooper plans to attend Kansas State University to major in news and sports media.
Carsyn Vizner: Carsyn is the daughter of Trapis and Jennifer Vizner. Carsyn is FFA reporter, plays volleyball, runs track and is in the National Honor Society. Carsyn plans to attend Fort Hays State University to major in special education.
Nate Meyers: Nate is the son of Sam and Carie Meyers. Nate is FFA sentinel, plays football and runs track.
Nate also works on hotrods in his spare time. Nate plans to attend Fort Hays State University to major in construction management.
