“Pickleball:” a game similar to tennis, I guess, but more tuned to an older generation. Never tried it and I don’t have anything against it. However, I got a laugh last week when AARP sent me a letter asking me to join their organization. As a “Welcome Back” gift, they will send me a “Free Pickleball Set.”

Don’t know how I can pass up on a deal like that . . . but I did.

I’m learning more and more, the longer I live. For some time I’ve been learning the fine art of “Laundry.”

You know, the process of making dirty clothes, clean.

Well, also the word “laundry” is being used more and more in the common language. I hear it in news reports about how some people “Launder” their money. I hear it on TV drama program about the ‘bad’ people launder their money so the ‘good’ guys can’t tell where their money came from. (It’s hard to tell the difference between the two.)

Well, to make a long story short, a memory of years ago came back to me last week.

Back when our children were much younger than they are now, I remember how Nancy used to find many things in their clothes pockets after they went through the laundry.

Well, it’s been a few years since anything has been found in the washer or dryer. Until last week.

I was taking a load of clothes out of the dryer and as I made one last look to make sure I had everything, I noticed some paper way back in the dryer. Upon reaching in to get it, I found it (the paper) was two, one dollar bills.

I guess I’m guilty of laundering money.

I have to admit that I remember putting those two bills in my pocket several days before the laundry incident.

Life goes on . . .

Remembering . . .

I remember well those days of years ago when most of the news concerning the Supreme Court came over the summer when they announced their “decisions.” They were usually about some small part of a law that didn’t really affect very many people in their usual lives.

Today, it is much different.

Supreme Court decisions come almost weekly and they affect many Americans in their daily lives. They often affect political activities as well.

They just recently made decisions concerning young people who just graduated from college and faced paying back their student loan debt.

I’m not up to date on how the student loan program works, but it seemed to me the federal government took action a few years back to take control of the whole program. It seemed most all loans went through a government program at one time or another.

The debt (nationally) grew and grew and it was a “problem” for many young folks. They had to make decisions about how they spent their income.

Those decisions were hard to make.

Joe Biden wanted to help his re-election chances and told all those young people they didn’t have to pay off their debts. The government would take the tax money of all American tax payers to pay off their debts.

Well, the Supreme Court told the Democratic president and all those supporting his re-election that was not legal. Biden said that was OK, he would find another way to do so. If I understand it correctly, his second try was also shot down by the Supreme Court.

The other important item concerning the current election cycle involves the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Supreme Court.

The RNC initiative called ‘Protect the Vote’ has filed more than 100 lawsuits across 25 states. They are defending the law and fighting for common sense security measures that benefit all Americans.

Among the measures won by the RNC came in Arizona where the Supreme Court agreed with a lower court decision on a law that said it was OK to require election officials to reject a voter registration that doesn’t include proof of U. S. citizenship. (Makes sense to me, but not to the Democrats.)

Michigan seems to be a “hot spot” in this election cycle. Two items seemed to stand out to some: No. 1: Michigan law requires hiring an equal number of Democrats and Republicans for election roles. GOP plaintiffs allege Detroit has hired seven times as many Democrats as election inspectors. No. 2: The Michigan Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, instructed local election clerks to “presume” rather than “verify” the validity of an absentee voter’s signature. Seems the Michigan constitution requires verification of signatures.

The resort of appealing to the Supreme Court is good for elections, as well as other issues.

Concerning the current presidential elections. It is the general conclusion that the Democratic Party is the Liberal Party and the Republican Party is the Conservative Party.

However, have you listened to the Democratic Party’s candidate, Harris, recently?

Seems like she is copying some of the Democratic Party platform. Most likely trying to convince some of the voters she is not as Liberal as they might think.

Don’t believe it. One of the most Liberal Senators in the U. S., Bernie Sanders, came out over the weekend and reminded everyone that K. Harris, “has not” change her core values. If elected she will stay true to her core values.

That being said, I have no doubt she would continue on her true Liberal trip . . . We American would pay the price.

I understand some voters may not like Trump. But how could you like Harris any better. She has shown us that she supports all Liberal platforms . . . from killing babies to lying about many things, just to get elected.
