Marvin L. Earley, 81, the son of Donald and Elgie Mae (Jermark) Earley, was born May 15, 1943, in Concordia. He died July 8,at Republic County Hospital, Belleville.
Marvin grew up on a farm south of Formoso, and graduated with the Class of 1961 from Belleville High School. This is where he met his high school sweetheart Ramona Reed.
The two were married on Aug. 12, 1962. Ramona died in 2023.
Marvin began his career as a butcher in Manhattan, Kansas. This trade followed him to Thornton, Colorado in 1971 where he and Ramona called home until their retirement in 2005. He worked more than 40 years for King Soopers in the Denver area traveling to various stores that needed his expertise.
In the Spring of 2005, Marvin and Ramona retired and moved to Sun City, Arizona, where they spent the next 15 years of their life enjoying the people, the weather and the golfing.
During his life, Marvin found a love for golf. He and Ramona golfed in every state and state capital except for Alaska and Hawaii.
In May of 2023, Marvin and Ramona moved to Beloit to be closer to family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald W. and Robert A Earley; a sister, Mary Weaver; brothers-in-law, Jim Ray and Howard E. Reed; and a sister-in-law, Lorelei Lindblad.
A graveside service was held Aug. 17 at the Belleville Cemetery.
