The 2024 general election is still two months away but Carla Waugh, the Jewell County election officer, advises voters need to be aware of some important dates before the general election is held on November 5.
Tuesday, Oct. 15, is the last day to register to vote or update voter registration information to be eligible to vote in the 2024 general election. Reasons to update voter registration information would include things like a name or address change,
Wedneday, Oct.16 marks the first day of adance voting. Ballots will be mailed that day to those requesting and in-person voting may begin. Check with the county election officer for specific times, locations and rules.
Tuesday, Oct. 29, is the last day to apply for an advance voting mail ballot.
In person advance voting ends at 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 4.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 is election day and all advance ballots must be postmarked that day or before and received at the election officer’s office by Friday, Nov. 8.
