Father-son duo win Bradrick scramble

The Bradrick 2-Person Scramble Golf Tournament

The Father-Son duo of Dan Higer and Tycen Higer claimed the overall first place score at "The Bradrick," a 2- person scramble golf tournament held at Mankato Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 17. The Higers held off 23 other teams to claim their right on the Jack Bradrick Memorial plaque that hangs on the wall at the clubhouse.

The tournament is held in honor of the late Jack Bradrick, who died in February of 2008, and was a regular golfer at Mankato Country Club for many years. Jack also spent countless hours on the course doing maintenance and improvements and was known for his witty golf quips. Jack's family attends the tournament every year, supplying the lunch for the golfers, as well as giving away prizes and golf items honoring their father. As MCC board member Brian Shulda said in the opening announcements of the tournament, "Today, we play for Jack."
