Arlo Schoenrock

Arlo Ray Schoenrock, the son of Paul and Ruth Schoenrock, was born on Dec. 5,1941, in Alexandria Nebraska. Arlo grew up on a farm west of Fairbury and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Evangelical and Reform Church in Alexandria. After graduating from Fairbury High School in 1959, he attended Nebraska Vocational Technical School in Milford, Nebraska, and studied auto body technology. He lived much of his life in Superior, working for Bill Morris Ford and then was owner-operator of Arlo's Auto and Body. Most of his retirement years were in Superior.

Arlo enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as boating and camping and time with his children and grandchildren. He was famous among his family for his homemade popcorn and enjoyed ice cream and frozen Cokes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Schoenrock; and brother, Gary Schoenrock.

He is survived by his children Angela (Steven) Helmke, Denver, Colorado; Scott (Kayla) Wombacher, Fairbury, Nebraska; Shana (Derek) Kennedy, Clovis, California; Travis Schoenrock, Superior; Ken (Whitney) Wombacher, Gretna, Nebraska; brother, Verl (Barb) Schoenrock, Fairbury, and sister, Gan Humfeld, Perham, Minnesota; grandchildren: Jessica Alpert, Boston, Massachusetts; Tyler Alpert, Thornton, Colorado; Shiann (Tyler) Marr, Courtland, Kansas; Shawnee (Walker) Cool, Superior; Kalee (Anthony) Hildreth, Chicago, Illinois; Courtney (Adam) Felts, Wichita, Kansas; Austin Kennedy, Clovis, California; Zachary Kennedy, Kearney, Nebraska; Chelsea (Darren) Wilson, Fresno, California; Miranda (Jared) Gallatin, Ellensburg, Washington; Alec Wombacher, Isaac Wombacher, Elijah Wombacher, Amelia Wombacher, Jade Wombacher and Olivia Wombacher Gretna, Nebraska; and great-grandchildren Emery and Murphy Felts, Wichita; Kaymbri Cool, Superior; Nash and Arian Kennedy, Clovis, California; Zayne Kennedy, Kearney; Dakota Wilson and Baby Wilson (arriving in September), Fresno, California.

His funeral was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Ken Wombacher officiating.

Music was "Amazing Grace," "Grandpa Told Me So" and "How Great Thou Art," provided by Elijah and Alec Wombacher.

Book signing visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., Aug. 22, 2024 with the family present from 6 to 8 to greet friends.

Inurnment was 1:30 p.m. in the Zion Countryside Cemetery, Gladstone, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Superior Elks Lodge 2197.
