South Central Public Power crews shut off power to a portion of Lawrence this week as they restored electrical power to the Sacred Heart Church. Power was disconnected to the church after a fire badly damaged the church some time ago.
A planned power outage in Lawrence, last Wednesday, allowed for the installation of a three-phase transformer. The outage was scheduled between 8 a.m. and noon.
The outage affected a small number of residential and business accounts. The installation will allow power to be restored to Sacred Heart Church.
The power had been affected by a fire which caused major damage to the building.
Repair work has advanced to where it is safe to restore power to the building.
