"It was a good day," as the saying goes . . .
The Lawrence community Red Cross Bloodmobile visit continued its long standing tradition of exceeding the quota set by the Red Cross for its August visit to the community. Red Cross supervisor, Amanda, said simply: "Thanks for having us. The goal was 44 units and we're leaving with 50."
Lawrence community coordinators, Eileen Mazour and Jackie Kirchner worked with their many groups and individuals to see that the proud tradition carried on.
There were seven people who reached a "gallon club" status with their recent donations. They include: Ken Kathman, 16 gallons; Marilyn Svoboda, 14 gallons; Dwayne Buescher, 11 gallons; Bernie Menke, 8 gallons; Duane Brockman, 7 gallons; Margene Eitzman, 7 gallons; and Don Faimon, 1 gallon.
Two donors were deferred for their own health for not meeting the Red Cross criteria to donate blood.
The list of additional donors included:
Lyle Kohmetscher, Judith Menke, Donald Kohmetscher, Lawrence Faimon, Joan Schiermeyer, David Kohmetscher, Robert Kotinek, Walter Buescher, Karen Faimon, Barbara Janda, Joseph Theer, Michael Buescher, Marlene Hubl, Kristen Janda, Darrell Anderson, Janice Pavelka.
