When I started the “journalist” thing, back in 2019, I hadn’t even gotten my bearings before COVID-19 came and we were all placed in lockdown. Honestly, I wasn’t scared of the virus. I was more terrified of losing my job and not being able to pay the bills. Thankfully with some help from a few good friends and a lot of creativity, I never missed a day.
Wednesday was my last day I run my route, and I was not looking forward to saying goodbye to all the friends I’ve made along the way, Shea, Josh, Rhonda, Michael, Brenda, Linda, Nancy, Allen…far too many to count. I will miss you guys. To all the friends I’ve made from the stupid little stories I wrote and all the people I have met over the last five years, I just want you to know I enjoyed meeting each of you and telling your story. Getting to know this community has been such a blessing.
I hate leaving, I hate change and I am scared to death! I’ve prayed about it, and then prayed some more, and I have faith this is the path I need to follow. Thank you for reading my silly little column, I hope I have made at least one person smile and maybe feel a little better over the years by writing this goofy thing.
In this house we don’t say goodbye, we say “See ya later.” Goodbyes are definite and final. We don’t like that. However, it is the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next, so for now I’ll see ya later. X’s & O’s.
