Love my crazy life

Today is bittersweet in a way. It is Jessica’s (my daughter-in-law) last day at the pool. It’s still weird to call her my daughter-in-law. The last four summers I’ve watched her grow as a lifeguard and a young woman. Now as this chapter closes, she moves on to her life as an adult and a married woman. I am a little sad to see her leave, but excited I get to continue to be a part of her life and watch her continue to grow. Her husband had better take good care of her! LOL!

On another note, the bugs are horrible this year. My ankles and calves are chewed up and I am miserable! Just when I think they are getting healed up, I get bitten again. I suppose if I would stay inside I could get over it, but that’s not possible for me. I enjoy being outside too much. We have sprayed the yard, and the house and use bug repellent. There is no hope! The creepy crawlies just find me irresistible.

This summer is going by too quickly. I’ve been pulled in so many directions the past couple months, and I’m having trouble keeping track of where I am and where I need to be. Mom has been without a vehicle all summer, so I have been attempting to help out. She refused to drive mine so I try to pick things up when she needs and take her to the grocery store. I’m not doing the best. Thankfully she has friends and the handy bus because I fail more often than not. We are going to Deshler today to the vet and grocery store. It was the only day I could fit in a quick trip. Sorry, Mommy, I am trying!

I made another payment on my tires today. Yay for me! I find it quite unsatisfying that I work so much and still have to make payments on my cheep-O-tires! It’s so frustrating! If things keep going the way they are, I’ll have to have a payment plan for a gallon of milk. I have not one single penny saved for retirement, and will likely have to work until the day I die. Isn’t it great to have things to look forward too! A little dark humor never hurt no one!

On the home-front, we have begun using paper-plates, bowls and plastic silverware because I don’t have the time to deal with washing dishes. The house is a cluttered mess and the garden, well I can still see the top of the corn through the weeds. Thankfully, Hubby is fairly independent and has been fending for himself because I have just given up! The towel has been thrown in. I just can’t keep up, and this heat, holly cow! Pray for some cooler days, I think we all need a break from it. X’s & O’s.
