A 20-year-old man from Lawrence died shortly after 11 p.m. last Wednesday when his truck collided with a vehicle driven by a Guide Rock resident on U.S. Highway 281 about a quarter-mile south of the Adams County community of Ayr.
According to information released by the Adams County Sheriff’s office, Theodore Kathman was the driver of a northbound Ford Ranger when the vehicle collided with a southbound motor home driven by Sandra Larkey, 80, of Guide Rock.
The crash officially happened at 11:04 p.m.
Kathman was pronounced dead at the accident scene, Larkey was transported by Hastings Fire and Rescue to Mary Lanning Healthcare with what is thought to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Kathman was a 2022 graduate of Lawrence-Nelson High School and graduated in May with an associate’s degree in agriculture from Southeast Community College at Beatrice. His major was agricultural management and production. He was employed near Bladen by Norder Supply. His obituary is printed in this issue.
