Fr. Ferdinand Boehme

Fr. Ferdinand Joseph Boehme was born in Washington state in 1960 to Ferdinand and Mary Boehme. He attended first grade at St. John the Evangelist School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grades 2 through 9 at Spring Valley, Public Schools, Spring Valley, Minnesota. He was a 1978 graduate of Schuyler Central High School, Schuyler, Nebraska.

In 1985 he graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor's of science degree in civil engineering. He worked five years for the Nebraska of Department of Water Resources in Lincoln,.

He then attended St. Philip's Seminary in Toronto, Ontario, and graduated from Mount Saint Mary's Seminary, Emmitsburg, Maryland with a Masters of Divinity in 1997. On May 24, of that same year, he was ordained to the Catholic Priesthood by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz in the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Fr. Boehme began his service as an assistant for St. Patrick's and St. Ann's Catholic Churches (McCook), Sacred Heart (Hayes Center), from 1997 to 1999. He served as pastor of St. James's (Curtis), St. William's (Wellfleet) and St. Joseph's (Farnam) Catholic Churches from 1999 to 2011. He was Pastor of St. Mary's (Wymore), St. Mary's (Odell) and St. Joseph's (Barneston) Catholic Churches (2011 to 2018). His final years of service were as Pastor of St. Joseph's (Superior) and Sacred Heart (Nelson) Catholic Churches from 2018 to 2024.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ferdinand Boehme. He is survived by his mother, Mary Boehme; sisters, Marie Boehme and Marghee (Douglas) Boehme-Paterson; brothers, Edward and John (Junko) Boehme; and nephews, John Boehme Jr. and Ferdinand Boehme.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Divine Mercy Parish St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Schuyler, Nebraska. Visitation is today (Thursday) from 5 to 7 with the Rosary at 7 p.m.

Visitation will be Friday 10 to 11 a.m. All services are at the church. Committal will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Schuyler, Nebraska.

Memorials are requested for St. Patrick's Catholic School,McCook, Catholic Social Services, Lincoln and Madonna Hospice Services,Lincoln.
