Superior Police Department
The Superior Police Department has been busy. On Tuesday, June 11, the department responded to a reported assault call. A Superior resident was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats and criminal mischief. The suspect was located hiding in the trunk of a car.
On June 19, the department responded to a call at a local business on the east side of Superior. An individual was charged with criminal mischief and terroristic threats after he damaged a pickup truck with a baseball bat.
The department reponded to a call Sunday. It was originally reported as a civil standby call. When the officer arrived, the domestic situation escalated. Wilbur Young, chief of police, instructed the subject to obey his commands. When the subject failed to heed the request, Young deployed his taser. The subject was treated at the scene. No arrest was made.
Young reports the department is stepping up enforcement of speed limits and engine brake usage within the city.
