Chesterfest did not disappoint fans

Chesterfest was held this past weekend with two days of "Music, Food and Fun!" Things kicked off on Friday night with a sand volleyball tournament. Soon a night of games was held with dozens of players enjoying time in the park while trying their luck. Food specials and the concession stand kept the crowd well fed.

Saturday started with the 4th annual 5k Run -Walk event. The fastest finisher was Jeffrey Ebeck of Manhattan, Kansas.

Soon the park was busy as the vendors were set up and the car show was in full swing with more than 40 vehicles on display. The golf cart rally filled out the morning.

Before 5p.m., the crowds for the concert started arriving and got their chairs in place. Opening the show was local favorites, "Bourbon Street" who played a well received set. Then the crowd of 1,100 was ready for headliner "Chris Cagle" who brought a series of hit songs to the Chester Stage! The dancing crowd seemed to love every minute. After the show, many people stayed for the annual fireworks display, which again did not disappoint. Rounding out the evening was the duo of "Pete Gile and Howard Reed," who kept the party going into the early hours.

The Chesterfest Community Club planned and hosted this weekend.
