Anna Louise Morgan died on June 14, 2024, at the Jewell County Hospital in Mankato. She was born on Dec. 13, 1952, to Maldwyn and Joan Morgan in Harrow, England. She was the middle of three children, David being the oldest and Tim being the youngest.
She attended primary school and Whitmore High School in England. Additionally, she attended Harrow Junior College, studying sociology. As a young girl growing up in England, Anna enjoyed going to the beaches with her family, feeding the geese in the area parks and shopping in the local village with her friends.
Anna immigrated to the United States in 1976. Sons, Donovan Walton and David Walton, were born in 1978 and 1982 respectively. Anna became a US Citizen in 1983.
Anna worked as a florist, ran a daycare center and spent most of her adult life as the register of deeds for Jewel County, retiring after 32 years of serving the community. She was a member of P.E.O. International, spending time as the president and secretary of the local chapter. Anna was an avid reader, leading her to join the Mankato Library Board and serve as the treasurer.
Anna was a member of the Mankato Evangelical Lutheran Church. She developed the church newsletter and bulletin for years. She was also part of the Lutheran Ladies group.
Her favorite hobby was quilting. She also liked to read, garden and sing. She enjoyed her children's and grandchildren's school activities and sporting events. Baking and cooking for family and friends were a passion of Anna's.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, David.
She will be missed by her children, Donovan Walton (Monica) of Kansas City, Missouri, David Walton of Mankato, Kansas; grandchildren, Alli Walton, Emma Walton, KloeRae Walton, Ysabel Fry, and Jeremiah Fry.
Anna's funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Mankato Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Dennis Beckmann officiating. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Mankato Evangelical Lutheran Church Facebook page for family and friends unable to attend. A graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery will occur after the funeral, followed by lunch at the Lutheran Church.
