Douglas Warren

Douglas Ivan Warren, the son of Ivan and Margaret (Leece) Warren, was born on July 18, 1944, in Superior, Nebraska. He died on June 3, 2024, at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 10 months, 16 days.

Douglas was a Lovewell High School graduate and a lifetime member of United Methodist Church in Webber, Kansas. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was married to Carol Smith. They were blessed with three sons. They divorced and he was married to Jan Conaway. They later divorced. He married Cheryl Wilson on Sept. 19, 1989. Doug loved his family, as well as his extended family of friends. He enjoyed taking drives to Lovewell Lake with his companion, Blue. Doug was known by his infectious laughter and giggles.

Doug was a jack of all trades kind of guy. He farmed, worked at Mid-America Dairy in Superior, fertilizer plants in Courtland and Republic, CA Picard in Belleville, and also did sandblasting, welding, mechanic work and small engine repair.

He was a member of the American Legion and NRA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cheryl, on Feb. 16, 2015; his brother, Rodney; and brother-in-law, Justin Thompson.

He is survived by his sons, Tony (Angie) of Hastings, Troy (Jay Carson) of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Eric (Jennifer) of Grand Island; step-children, Devin (Holli) Wilson of Lenexa, Kansas; Melanie (Lannin) Zoltenko of Courtland, Kansas; and Haley (Derek) Weik of Carson City, Nevada; grandchildren: Garrett, Ian, Dustin, Darren, Sherri, Zach, Sam, Chandler, Taran, Colton, Breckin and Taylor; his sister, Margo (David) Baird of Carson City, Nevada; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron (Dee) Thompson, Bob Thompson, Barb Thompson and Linda Warren, all of Superior; other relatives and friends.

His funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Roger Walls and Pastor Betty Bouray officiating.

Recorded music was "How Great Thou Art," "I'll Fly Away," "Footprints" and "Drink A Beer."

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on June 7, with the family present to greet friends.

Pallbearers were Brad Bouray, Dennis Swanson, Eldon Thompson, Kent Bouray, Rick Albertson and Sam Wagner. Honorary pallbearers were Garrett Warren, Ian Warren, Dustin Warren, Darren Warren, Sherri Svacak, Zach Wilson, Sam Wilson, Chandler Zoltenko, Taran Zoltenko, Colton Weik, Breckin Weik and Taylor Weik.

Interment with military honors was in the Fairview Cemetery, Webber, Kansas.
