The Jewell City Council met Monday at City Hall. Those in attendance were Mayor, Darrell Bohnert, council members Don Delzeit, Josh Burks, Gaye Daniels, Derek Birdsell, Bob Freeman and Kristie Anderson, city clerk.
Don Jacobs, Jewell County sheriff, was present and discussed the activities going on in the city.
James Reed, code enforcement officer, was absent and presented a written report. Reed mentioned the properties he is working with to get up to code.
Jerod McMillan provided the monthly maintenance report. McMillan is going to start working on streets. The council approved a $2,000 summer help budget and getting a weed eater. A quote for concrete work for the park project was presented and approved.
Kristie Anderson presented the monthly clerk’s report. She told about getting paper ready for the audit report coming up and gave an update on events booked at the community center and motel reservation.
The land bank board presented their minutes from the last meeting. They mentioned the projects they are working on.
In unfinished business, Bohnert said the City of Jewell was awarded the computer grant.
In other business, Bohnert talked about getting two “No Swimming” signs for Emerson Lake.
