Love my crazy life

Well, I am failing at being a gardener. Most of my seeds did not come up. I likely planted before it was warm enough, or planted them too deep. I will replant them soon. My corn and potatoes did come up, and my pepper plants seem to be doing well, but my sweet potatoes and tomatoes don’t look so great. I have a ton of weeds growing and can’t seem to find the time or ambition to get after them. In the evenings I have tried. The mosquitos have been so bad that I gave up after just a few minutes. It doesn’t take long for them to chew you up.

Thankfully the pool is up and running. We still have a few quirks to straighten out but with a little extra attention, everything is going fine. We have a panel that when set up correctly will turn the chemical pumps on and off as needed, but last year most of the digital screen went bad. We sent it in to the manufacturer for repair at the end of the season. When we set it up this year, the screen works great but it won’t communicate with the pumps. I’m leaving that one to the experts to figure out, but for now, I test the water a little more often, and have to flip the switch on the pumps a couple times a day. So far its worked out really well, I haven’t had to worry about the timers going off and having to reset the whole mess.

We are in the process of applying for a home equity loan so we can put a roof on the money pit, and, fingers crossed, maybe even get it painted. We have never had a conventional home loan, so this process is new to us, and frustrating. Every week George gets a call saying it is approved and funds should be available soon. Then he receives an email stating they need more information. So far they have wanted our paystubs, tax returns, floor plan, proof of insurance and proof of real estate tax payment. Now they want to come see the inside and take photos of every room! They come Friday morning!

They picked the worst week for this. My assistant at the pool, Rocky Miller, was asked to participate in the 8-man All Star game held at Hastings College. That makes two Raider boys that will be participating this year, as Connor Janda was also chosen. I wish I could be there to cheer them on, but will have them both in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck boys! X’s & O’s.
