Kalynn Meyer qualifies for NCAA meet

Kalynn Meyer, a Superior High School graduate who competes for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, qualified for the NCAA Track and Field championship meet being held from Wednesday, June 5, through Saturday, June 8, at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus at Eugene.

Meyer qualified at the NCAA West preliminary round held at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, with her personal best throw of 190’ in the discus.

Meyer, a junior, originally committed to the UN-L as a volleyball player. After two years as a member of the volleyball team, she switched to track and field to compete in the discus and shot put. Meyer holds the state Class C meet record, with a distance of 176’8”, set in 2019. This is her first trip to the national meet.

Meyer is the daughter of Andy and Peggy Meyer. Andy holds the state record for discus in Class B with his throw of 203’6”, set in 1989.
